“We consider Cates Sheet Metal to be one of the leading sheet metal subcontractors in the U.S. We work in Kansas City and throughout the United States and have had great success with Cates Sheet Metal in a variety of locations as well as in different market segments. Technologically they are leaders in their industry with respect to their estimating and fabrication. They are very responsive to our needs and we consider them a partner, not a subcontractor, when we have the opportunity to work together."

Executive Vice President

"I keenly remember the first Saint Luke's Health System project back in 1989 with Cates Sheet Metal, Inc., as a subcontractor to AD Jacobson, Inc. It was a five-story vertical expansion of the Mid America Heart Institute, which was completed 183 days ahead of schedule and approximately $900,000 under budget.
Since that time, Cates Sheet Metal, Inc., has been involved with every new or renovation project throughout SLHS. This includes a new hospital opening in 1998 at Saint Luke's South in Overland Park, Kansas; a major patient tower expansion at Saint Luke's Northland Hospital-Barry Road; and Saint Luke's East-Lee's Summit Hospital opened in January 2006 with excess of 250,000 square feet of hospital, diagnostic center, rehab, medical office building and an amublatory surgery center. Numerous expansion and renovation projects at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City include a new surgery department, bone marrow transplantation suites, and pharmacy and laboratory projects.
At this time, Cates Sheet Metal, Inc., is working with the hopital design team and select contractors to finalize construction plans for a $300 million expansion to Saint Luke's Hospital, the tertiary care center of SLHS. This project, which is slated to be world-class, is only possible through strong partnerships SLHS has developed with companies such as Cates Sheet Metal.
On behalf of SLHS, thank you for your continued support and dedication to our mission, which is to enhance the physical, mental and spiritual health of the communities we serve and provide the best possible health care and health-related service in a caring environment."

"I have had the pleasure of working with Cates Sheet Metal for over 16 years. Their high level of expertise along with the integrity of its leadership has been the tools necessary to build a relationship that remains unique to the construction industry. The experience received through partnering with a company that has earned the recognition in Kansas City and its surrounding areas as the leader in the sheet metal industry has played a major roll in the success of my company today. As a minority owned business, I am proud to speak to a relationship established many years ago that continues to work today. A relationship between a majority and a minority company built on quality, performance and trust."
