What's happening at Cates Sheet Metal?

Cates Sheet Metal Industries is pleased to announce that we have secured the bid for the Irwin Army Replacement Community Hospital. The brand new 5-story hospital is located in Ft. Riley, KS and totals 571,000 square feet. Cates will be performing the sheet metal sub-contract under a joint venture between MMC Contractors and P1 Group.
- Cates Sheet Metal is proud to announce that we have received the “2010 Contractor of the Year Award for Mid-sized Subcontractors - 150,001 to 300,000 work hours”. This award is given annually by the Builder’s Association. The basis of judging was per the following criteria: overview of the company safety program, high level of employee involvement in safety, new programs, procedures or resources used by company to promote safety, management’s involvement/commitment to safety, and unique program elements used by the company to promote and heighten safety awareness.

On August 28th, Cates Sheet Metal held an Employee Appreciation Picnic at the corporate headquarters location at 15555 W. 108th Street. Nearly 150 employees and their families were in attendance. We had excellent weather, food and company. This is going to become an annual event for Cates Sheet Metal. We look forward to many events in the future.

Children's Mercy Hospital has purchased a ten floor building at 31st and Broadway in which Cates has begun renovations. “Children’s Mercy Clinics on Broadway” is now being renovated on floors 2, 3, 4 and 10. The sub-contract is with Midwest Mechanical.

Work is ongoing at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. Cates is performing the HVAC sub-contract with Midwest Mechanical. The opening date of the museum has been recently set for November 11, 2011.

The Mid-American Heart Institute at the St. Luke’s Wornall campus, a seven story building, is currently ongoing with the 4th, 5th and 7th levels close to completion while the “A”, 1st and 3rd levels are currently in progress. The 6th level, currently a shell space, is to be finished in the near future.

The St. Luke’s East Campus in Lee’s Summit, MO., is expanding with one stand alone building, “Bldg. F”, currently underway and budgets submitted to increase the main building two more floors, levels 5 and 6.
